GAH! Top 10 2010 Alert!!!

This has taken me too long to say, BUT, the incredible new Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffitti EP, Before Today is BANGARANG. How many times have you heard aficionado's/any music fan compare the latest lo-fi home recorded bands/artists to "Ariel Pink meets blah-di-blah." As blanket and easy as this phrase has become, it's a testament to the brilliance behind the way Ariel Pink did his thing. These guys have been underground for so long that the stigma surrounding them became more than the music they were releasing (especially since everything they were releasing was at least 5 years old). This has given them the perfect platform for large scale release while still keeping their grime in tact. While the shite sound quality, nee their original charm, has been all but eradicated the songs still retain that lo-fi (inexpensive) haziness that we all know and love.

My personal highlight would probably be the cover of Rockin' Ramrods' 1966 song "Bright Lit Blue Skies." The video clip roolz too.
